FAQ

Q: What is a zine?
A: Zine is short for “magazine.” It is a collection of unofficial fanworks, typically of art, writing, and merch items, around a central theme.
Q: What characters are considered to be a part of Albedo’s family?
A: Not including Albedo himself, his family includes Rhinedottir, Alice, Klee, Subject Two, Subject Three, Durin, Elynas, Melusines, Mini Durin, Wolfy, other failed primordials Rhinedottir created aside from Albedo and Subject Two, and rifthounds.
Q: Will characters outside of Albedo’s family be included?
A: Yes, they can, but they should only have a minor role. Albedo and his family member(s) should be the main focus.
Q: Will ships be allowed?
A: The zine will feature only platonic relationships.
Q: How many contributors will you accept?
A: This may change based on the interest check, but we are hoping to accept around 20-25 page artists, 5-7 writers, and 5-7 merch artists, including guests.
Q: Who can apply?
A: Anyone that is 18 years or older by the time contributor applications results are released (July 26), regardless of previous zine experience may apply.
Q: How will profits be distributed?
A: All contributors are guaranteed a digital copy of the zine plus digital merch. If target sales aren’t met, the zine and physical merch will be available for contributors to purchase at production cost. If target sales are met, all contributors will receive a free full bundle and any additional surplus profits will be evenly distributed among mods and contributors.
Q: What are the guidelines for applying to the zine?
A: Please see our applications guidelines section.
Q: I have a question that’s not included here.
A: Please reach out to us on any of our social media links below!

Application Guidelines

GENERAL
• Portfolios must be fully accessible. If using a Google Drive, use set the link to “anyone can view” and not “restricted.”
• At least one Genshin Impact sample is required.
• The zine is SFW — the inclusion of NSFW samples or within the portfolio without a warning will result in disqualification.
• Contributors must create an original piece for the zine. AI art, traced, and plagiarised samples will result in disqualification.
• Contributors retain the right to their piece. However during the zine's creation, we implement an exclusivity clause, and ask contributors to not publicly post their piece. This ensures the zine’s content is not spoiled before distribution. A preview of up to 25% of the piece may be shared during certain periods of the zine creation.

PAGE ARTISTS:
• Must have 3 or more original samples.
• At least 1 sample must have a complete and detailed background.
• Applications will be judged on their composition, style, anatomy, color, and backgrounds.

WRITERS:
• Must have 3 or more original samples.
• All samples must be between 1k to 2.5k word count (leeway of 100 words). Poets have a maximum of 50 lines.
• At least one sample must be a completed piece within the 1k-2.5k word count while others can be excerpts from longer works.
• Applications will be judged on their spelling, grammar, diction, pacing, characterization, and ability to tell a complete and compelling story within the zine’s word count.

MERCH ARTISTS:
• Must have 3 or more original samples.
• Applications will be judged on their composition, style, color, and variety of merch samples.
